PSIT. How have I seen it?
I've seen it for the first time and "touched with my fingers" some months ago. At that time the first PSIT was sent from the Research department to the developers of the Site Craft (SC). I was terrified reading it. I thought developers would scatter and would not complete SC. There was a pack of swearwords…
What are these swearwords? That was the answer of a person who have tried to work with the Builder – the Owner of the computer and programs he had paid money for. And these swearwords unambiguously showed me that a person who has bought this computer is not its master at all.
Why do I speak so surely about that? That's because my computer has been fighting with me as with the most hated enemy for thousand times. It displayed some odd messages, or suddenly for no reason began calculating something, or Word dumped out heaps of buttons so that it seemed to be easier to type the text on a typewriter…
Then I began thinking. Isn't that amusing, we intend making our own products, choose our logo - SIT, announce "smart" and "friendly" interfaces and suddenly see that our products arouse such feelings…?! No, I don't want to. Don't want to work in vain nor without a heart, and besides incur customers' hatred on us. Don't want to. And then comprehension came – that PSIT is something we need.
After the first PSIT already the developers have redesigned SC in such a way that in some parts I rejoiced as a child - I can cope with it (!) and I don't need to rack my brains and read volumes on how this thing works. New PSITs appeared, the Site Craft had been revised and grew closer and closer to me with every new version. I felt that the "mist of unclearness" is clearing away gradually and a feeling appears that if I buy this product I will purchase a manageable assistant, who will not abruptly trick me in an unsuitable moment.
So here I ask myself a question: What will be with the software when all developers realize what kind of scum they are in the opinion of their users; how the users hate them!.. Is that possible that a time will come when I can just love a developer because I feel through all details of a program he loves me and has made it for me? But I'm lost in daydreams! Just as a little girl, and not a psychologist.
